Ashley's Chinese calendar birthday Oct 8.  Surprisingly she remembered.  She requested an ice-cream birthday cake.  So we rushed to get one from Baskin-Robbins and we went to her favourite restaurant East Side Mario of course.

Here you go, Ashley and Kayley ready to cut the birthday cake!

Japan Trip

Fiona and I travelled and drove around in north-east Japan from April 22-28,2010. We saw cherry blossom, we soaked ourselves in hot spring, we ate very o-shi (yummy) food and we drank beer and saki. I cannot ask for more. Thanks Fiona for doing all the planning for this trip.

High Tea at the Old Mill Inn

We were there to pre-celebrate Siew's 40th birthday. After the surprised party at HQ, we gave her another surprise ... high tea at the Old Mill Inn. We, 5 of us, Siew (of course), Burcu, Laura, Shalini and me occupied the entire Atrium room. We laughed, giggled, chatted with our open hearts and tried to be high class at the same time. It was a beautiful afternoon!!!

Back to Toronto

This week I am back to my station YBZA at lakeshore. Everything looks normal and I am glad I am home.

The weather is super nice, this is what I call spring.

Training in Chicago - Day 5

The training was finally over. Tonnes and tonnes of information loaded in my small brain in a short period of time. I felt like I was totally drained out. When we were on the way to the airport, I fell asleep at the back seat. My body and my brain just shut down. I vaguely heard Laura and Elvin talking about shopping. Then the car stopped. I told them please leave me in the car. I don't know how long they came back. I just know that I probably looked like a dead body lying there. Good thing no one called the police!

Training in Chicago - Day 4

Yesterday was a good long day for training.

Then an adventure to the outlet mall. As we were driving there, the next thing I noticed was we were in the middle of a snow storm with minimal visibility. Elvin was the designated driver and he couldn't see at night very well. (That's great I said to myself) I crossed my fingers and we finally made it. I was wondering if the next morning news will say something like "4 engineers from Toronto were crashed into the ditch last night ..."

Shopping was nice. Laura is a serious shopper. We went back to RAM for some beer and food and called it a day.
